At CoreStart Education Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to unlock their full potential through education. Our journey began with the passion and dedication of our founder, who has spent the last eight years tirelessly supporting underprivileged children in Nigeria.
Growing up in Nigeria, our founder witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children who lacked access to quality education. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility, a mission was formed to make a difference. Despite moving to the United States, the commitment to the children in need back home never wavered. For eight years, personal funds were used to provide scholarships, supply school materials, create safe learning environments, and offer mentorship programs to help these children thrive.
However, it soon became clear that the need was far greater than what could be addressed individually alone. With 1 in 3 children in Nigeria out of school—totaling 10.5 million at the primary level alone, the highest rate in the world—the scale of the problem was overwhelming. Additionally, 12.4 million children have never attended school, and 5.9 million have dropped out early, leaving a vast number of young minds unfulfilled and futures uncertain.
Why We Exist
In response to this crisis, CoreStart Education Foundation was founded. This organization is more than just a charity; it is a movement dedicated to giving every child the chance to dream, learn, and succeed. CoreStart was created to extend the founder’s vision and efforts to a larger scale, enabling us to reach more children and communities across Nigeria.
