Mission in Action

WHAT WE DO

HOW WE DO IT

Providing Scholarships:

CoreStart Education Foundation empowers underprivileged children in Nigeria by providing scholarships to unlock their full potential and break the cycle of poverty. We aim to remove financial barriers that prevent children from accessing quality education.

Actions:

  • Tuition Coverage: Provide full or partial scholarships to cover the cost of school tuition, making education accessible for families who cannot afford it and to ensure that students can continue their education without interruptions caused by financial difficulties.
  • Uniforms and Supplies: Include the cost of school uniforms and basic educational materials in the scholarship package to ensure that students have everything they need to attend school with dignity and readiness which helps reduce the financial stress on families, allowing them to focus on other basic needs.
  • Transportation Stipends: Offer transportation stipends where necessary, enabling children in remote areas to commute to school safely and regularly

Supplying School Materials:

At CoreStart Education Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the tools they need to succeed in their educational journey. We are dedicated to providing underprivileged children in Nigeria with high-quality school materials that create a supportive and stimulating learning environment. By supplying these essential resources, we not only equip students for academic success but also inspire a love for learning that can last a lifetime.

Actions:

  • Distribution Drives: We organize school supply distribution drives in underserved communities, ensuring that children receive essential items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and backpacks. These materials help students participate fully in their education and alleviate the financial burden on their families.
  • Technology Access: Where feasible, we introduce digital learning tools and resources, helping to bridge the digital divide and prepare students for the future. This includes providing e-learning software, tablets, or computers when possible.
  • Sustained Support: Beyond one-time distributions, we work to ensure that students have ongoing access to the materials they need throughout their education. This will include setting up resource centers or libraries in schools that can be replenished as needed.

Creating Safe Learning Environments:

At CoreStart Education Foundation, we believe that every child deserves a safe, supportive, and conducive environment for learning. A student’s ability to concentrate and absorb knowledge is deeply affected by their sense of security. Fear and anxiety can significantly hinder cognitive development, preventing students from reaching their full potential. By ensuring that schools are safe spaces, we not only protect the well-being of our students but also contribute to the overall safety and stability of the communities they belong to. Safe schools are pillars of stability and hope, vital for the holistic development of children and the growth of stronger, healthier communities.

Actions:

  • Infrastructure Improvement: We collaborate with schools to upgrade and improve facilities, including classrooms, libraries, and sanitation systems. Our goal is to create healthier, more welcoming environments where students can focus on learning without the distractions of inadequate or unsafe facilities.
  • Community Engagement: We involve parents, guardians, and community members in our efforts to maintain safe learning environments. By building a strong support network around the school, we ensure that the values of safety and respect are reinforced both inside and outside the classroom.

Supporting Mentorship Programs:

At CoreStart Education Foundation , we understand that mentorship is a powerful tool in shaping the future of young lives. Our mentorship programs are designed to address the unique challenges faced by underprivileged children, providing them with the guidance and support they need to thrive.

Why Mentorship Matters

  • Guidance and Support: Many underprivileged children lack access to positive role models who can provide the encouragement and direction they need. Our mentorship programs connect these children with mentors who offer personalized guidance, helping them navigate the challenges of education and life.
  • Academic Achievement: Mentors play a vital role in helping students develop essential study skills, time management techniques, and goal-setting abilities. This support leads to improved academic performance and a greater sense of achievement, setting students on a path to success.
  • Emotional and Social Development: Beyond academics, mentorship fosters emotional well-being and helps build self-esteem. Our programs encourage children to develop strong social skills, build meaningful relationships, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
  • Character Building: Mentors serve as positive role models, inspiring children to develop strong moral values, ethics, and a sense of responsibility. Through mentorship, students learn the importance of integrity, perseverance, and respect.
  • Bridging the Gap: Mentorship helps bridge the gap between disadvantaged communities and mainstream society. By providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, our programs empower children to envision and work toward a brighter future.
